The EDO is representing Lisa Caripis, a participant in a 2010 protest at the Hazelwood power station. Ms Caripis has lodged an appeal with VCAT alleging that Victoria Police has breached her privacy by filming and photographing her at the protest and then refusing to destroy the footage. The protest was peaceful and was reportedly attended by around 200 to 300 protesters, with around the same number of police.
The matter is listed for a Directions Hearing on 6 February 2012.
