Access to legal assistance in environmental law matters can be expensive and difficult to obtain.

The EDO attempts to addres this situation by:

• providing workshops for members of the community and community groups engaged in VCAT appeals
• providing free telephone advice and referrals to other professionals in some cases
• providing a range of self help kits including our poular VCAT appreals kit

We also provide legal advice and representation in public interest cases.  These cases generally involve signficant environmental issues or a significant unresolved legal issue.  Our clients range from community based environment groups to national conservation NGOs.
